Last Saturday night a group of six of us went to Sushi Tora, just off Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. I went in liking sushi and left absolutely in love with it! We sat at the sushi bar (a must experience!) and asked Ray the Sushi Chef (a native of Thailand, a country that will forever have a sweet place in my heart…) to enlighten us on some of his favorite creations. Without picking up the menu at all, we were served dish after magical dish — each one not only a visual work of art, but in the divine close-your-eyes-and-moan-softly category of deliciousness… We also sampled five different varieties of sake — both hot and cold — and tasted the Asahi beer (a dry Japanese beer). Just a beautiful, entertaining dinner. It will set you back a bit $$$, but you knew that about sushi and sashimi already, right? They’re flying the ingredients in from Japan, after all — we don’t want them flying coach, do we?
